When are the live sessions again?
We'll meet every Monday and Wednesday from 11:00am-12:15pm Eastern Time inside our course platform (similar to Zoom).
What if I can't attend the sessions live?
All sessions will be recorded and uploaded to our course platform within 30 minutes of when we finish. While it's helpful to attend live when possible in order to receive individual feedback, it is not required in order to benefit from the classes.
What if I have a specific question that doesn't fit into class time?
Class instructors will arrive in the online classroom 10 minutes before each scheduled Bendy & Badass class. This is a time for folks to come with specific questions or concerns, and have a few minutes to troubleshoot and gain personalized suggestions.
If you need one on one attention and you live locally in the Asheville, NC area, Libby sees patients for physical therapy at FYZICAL Therapy & Balance Centers in Asheville and would be happy to work with you there. For scheduling inquiries, contact the clinic directly at 828-785-4700, extension #2.
What equipment will I need?
You will need a set of resistance bands, ideally with a variety of resistance levels. Long bands and loop bands are both recommended. You'll also need some dumbbell sets (two of each weight). You can choose which weights you start with. Start low if you're new to resistance training! Lastly, you'll need at least one set of therapy balls for self-massage. You'll receive more details after you register.
What if I've never done any strength training before?
This program is open to all levels. Each exercise can be progressed or regressed by increasing or decreasing weights and increasing or decreasing stability.
Since POTS (postural orthopedic tachycardia syndrome) is common in people with hypermobility, most exercises in this series will include options to perform them from the ground (an example of increasing stability).
What if I struggle with exercise intolerance?
This program is designed to be a slow and gentle progression into your strength journey. You will learn how to use tracking tools to study exercise tolerance and exercise recovery after each session. There may be a bit of trial and error as you learn your body's signals, but you'll be supported and guided every step of the way.
Important note: A group exercise program is not intended to replace one-on-one guidance by licensed healthcare professional. If you have any doubt about your ability to participate, please consult your healthcare provider for guidance.
